     Another year has passed and Cubs For Kids is still providing teddy bears in hand knitted clothing to children in homeless shelters across the United States. There are many children in this country who do without holiday gifts, through no fault of their own and these teddy bears give them something they can hold onto.  We provide the bears, dress the bears and all we need from all of you is to provide us with the clothing.  The bears are forgiving and never complain about what they are wearing.  All you need to do is take your leftover or unused yarns, follow the simple directions and send the clothing to us.  We will do the rest. 

     Cubs for Kids started more than twenty-five years ago.  It started out of a love for knitting and a love of children.  Over the past twenty-five years, we have donated more that 15,000 teddy bears dressed in hand and machine knitted clothing to homeless children across the United States. 

     During the crisis in Ukraine, Cubs For Kids donated teddy bears to the refugee children in Poland.  Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough knitted clothing for them, so we just sent the teddy bears.  The children were very grateful for these gifts.

      We will provide the bears as long as we keep receiving your hand knitted clothing so that we can keep putting a smile on the faces of these less fortunate children.  There is a book called “They Cage the Animals at Night” by Jennings Michael Burch that tells the story of how important a small toy can mean to a child.
